Times of Change

Are you in a time of change in your life?

I sure am.

Our son graduated from college and has moved out of the house, following his passion in a city a few hours away. Our daughter will be entering her senior year of college this fall, will be getting married a month after she graduates next spring, and moving away to a state in the South. My husband has retired from his job of 26 years and is finding his way in the next chapter of his life.

These changes in my family's lives greatly affect me, and I confess that for someone who doesn't embrace change it has been a little overwhelming. If it weren't for God and the peace that only He can give with a peace that "passeth all understanding" (Philippians 4:7), I know I would be struggling a lot more than I am.

Yes, I know the cliche..."change is good." It's hard to remember that! There have been positives to these changes--travel benefits through our son and being able to spend more time with my husband who is my bestie--and will certainly be positives in the future--gaining a son-in-law and potential grandchildren.

Are you going through changes right now? I encourage you--and I'm definitely reminding myself--to look to the only One who can guide you through the storms. Believe me, I know it's easier said than done, but we'll get though it!
